As we pray for the ongoing relief effort in Tasmania, please remember our Emergency Chaplains who have provided an update below. Please pray for our Chaplains as they seek to support Tasmanians affected by fires. Please consider donating to assist with travel costs for volunteers.
We provide volunteers trained in Psychological First Aid and Emotional Spiritual Care in the event of a disaster or emergency. We are built on values of care, compassion, spirituality, respect and hope.
Thousands of volunteers have activated across Tasmania the last couple of weeks to help fight fires, and to protect and care for people and property. Champions! Our TCCEM volunteers are amazing. We have deployed up to 20 volunteers per day usually in 4 locations statewide (today we have 12 across three locations with two more on standby near a fourth location). We are a largely volunteer organisation with no current core funding so if you can donate some funds to enable us to reimburse some of our volunteers some travel/other costs that would be greatly appreciated. We can't usually offer reimbursements as we have no capacity (i.e., no spare funds), but some of our volunteers have done multiple shifts and most have long drives to get to their deployment locations.
